I can't guarantee that it will work but there is a tutorial here. Sorry I don't have much info.

hello insectduel! thank you for this great utility!
one question: i changed the rooms and now some water area and underground area won`t end...
could you please help me cause i don`t find any option to "send" mario to the usual ending room of these levels.
what do all these numbers mean ([H29] for example) -and is there a way to change them?
thank you!

WOW! It's been while doing SMB1 or SMB2J. But thanks for asking! Did you try putting the flagpole and castle for each underground and water level. You should try it! I will get to your other question later about [H29].

THANK YOU for that fast reply!
the problem: i`ve changed the areas via "sort areas" and can`t find another end sequence for that underwater area... i used an overworld area and put a rope and a castle in the first room with a scroll stop in the next room - but the underwater level just goes on after mario got in the tube at the end of it...
mmhmm...

You have to change it's pointers. Go to Enemies mode, then double click on the middle blue thingy at the end of the level. Then change the pointer where you want Mario to go.

Sorry, but I have no exprience in music hacking. Even with the afterworld 8 hack which is taken from another hack. However, I found this document my floppy wrote.

Hi there.
I've been trying to get your "Insectduel's SMB Util" to run on my 64-bit Windows 7 computer, but the program crashes and says "ISD_SMBUtil.exe has stopped working" every time I run it. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

To be honest zinfandel, I never used Windows 7 when I modify the SMB Utility. It was modified about 2008. If you're going to use my SMB Editor, then I suggest you use Windows XP if you have one. However, if you prefer to hack regular SMB1 without SMB2J items, then you should get SMB Utility made by M.H.S at ROM-Hacking dot net. www.romhacking.net/utilities/178/

I hope thread necromancy isn't a big deal here. Just tried ISD_SMBUtil and the original SMBUtil (both Japanese and English) All of them crash on 7-64, and they shut down without comment on my XP32-SP3 box.
I was trying to see if I could recreate the Vs. Super Mario Bros. levels on the SMB1 engine. The only editor I got working, YY, doesn't seem up to the task.

Dunno if this means anything, but there's the crashdump.
