First off before my interactions of this hack.
- I'm not a profressional Mega man hacker (I never say I was). I only experienced.
- The ASM Coding in Mega Man 1 is a bit messy and has different formatting.
- I suck at being a pixel artist.
Anyway, I decided to host this 2 level beta Mega Man 1 hack to the public (Entire World) for a reason because I'm not working with it anymore. That does not mean that you can take over my project or even finishing my hack for me. The reason why I stopped with my Mega Man 1 hack because I'm working on a long-term Mega Man 4 project from scratch and something more of an idea. And I will start with it immediately. I have some ideas in my head.
I'm not giving up on MegaGirl. I will get back to it when ready.
Yea, Yea, Yea. I already did finished with Mega Man Showdown 4 and people are enjoying it. That's just the beginning. Now I should work on all levels, add new ASM, add sound initals for each enemy or boss and more for my new Mega Man 4 hack.
Mega Man 1's ASM coding is extremely hard to work with especailly the weapons AI. I'm still stuck with it. The weapon AI is divided into 3 sections. In order words, I don't know most of the memory addresses to recogonize in Mega Man 1.
These sprites aren't very good either. I very suck at pixel drawings and I needed help with it. That's when the MegaMari (Rockman 1 hack) comes in. I was hoping someone will do a Marisa Megaman hack but Touhou music is missing. MegaMari WAS my original idea, so I chose MegaGirl instead because of GreenNinja's work. I'm glad someone made it too.
As I said, I needed help with the female robot (NOT Protogirl, Patchouli and Cirno) drawings because I suck. Unless you're okay with it. I spent 1 month trying to pixelize every sprite. The only sprite drawing that is stolen is Cirno. I have to use someone's Cirno and put it as my own but Patchouli remains as my own because I have her death sprite ready to initalize. And Megagirl's sprite is created by Blueboy and some outlines of her hairstyle of MegaGirl is by me. You can get the original patch from Zophar's Domain or download it from ANY rom site.
Too many things actually stopping me from finshing this hack. I actually
- Play Touhou Games and Touhoumon
- Employed for work
- Working on another project
- Most likely play another ROM-Hack
- Most likely to do run through or speed run movies for any game
- Computer Problems
And just to be honest, I thought I can complete it within this year but I didn't. It should be next year.
Now about this hack. 2 levels are NOT my offical levels but parts of Cirno's level is. Some screens of Cirno's level is missing until the final version of my hack. Right now the beta version is NOT my final version. And Bombgirl's stage final version should be the forest level with different enemies and the scroll layouts remain unchanged until the final version that don't overwrite another level for the current beta version. Also in the beta version is some AI's changed for bosses.
I haven't started with Custom music either. I know what music I needed or even found the music data but making the music can be TOO HARD for me to do. I need certain tools that can make music in NSF format before putting the data in the music data rom offset. My hack should have "Hana Yori Dango Another Love Story" Music too.
The final version when is done should include
- Weapons AI modified
- Suika's AI similiar to Mega Man 3's Yellow Devil
- Cirno's level with all missing screens inserted
- Bombgirl's Forest level
- Custom Music
- Select Button uses Weapon Select
- All levels modified
- Modify newly ASM stuff
- A possible MMC3 mapper or Expansion.
I'm not too sure about porting this one to MMC3 with expansion for the final version. It may cause some emulators to not run them like VirtuaNES or even Nester J. I can easily do this with Disch's MM1 document.

These 2 files aren't the same with different uploaders. And if you're downloading the IPS file from my site, it comes with Image Touhou and MegaGirl files for people to look at or to redrawn them from scratch. Both uploaders comes with Emulator Save States so you can screw around with the Wily levels for see more of my ASM Stuff.
Enjoy! Just make sure you apply it with Mega Man (U) ROM, not Rockman 1. And sorry for the long reading. MegaGirl has been a inspiration to me since Maria Sisters SMW Hack and IKA's Rockman No Constancy which started me to do Mega Man hacking.
You may use the graphics and levels for your own personal use but NOT my ASM stuff. Do these on your own. Redistributions are also OK.
